Before You Book… Your Questions Answered
Traditional & Non Traditional Wedding Dance
Congratulations to Justin and Abby
Congratulations on your engagement and thank you considering Romantic Wedding Dance. Together we’ll create your dream Traditional or Non Traditional Wedding Dance.
Rae’s couples have danced barefoot on the beach and in grand ballrooms. Private Wedding Dance Lessons are designed to be stress free. My prices are generous and unlike the big studios, you will not have to share the dance floor with other couples. Take a look at some of the Frequently Asked Questions below.
Lessons are available In Studio and In Home.
Most In Studio lessons take place near Bryant Park at 1026 Sixth Avenue, 3rd Floor, New York, NY. The studio fee is included in the lesson price. There are no hidden fees or extra fees.
In Home lessons apply to New York City only (does not include Bronx and Staten Island).
The lesson is 55 minutes which allows us time to decide if we'd make a good team.
The Introductory Lesson includes a warm up, dance technique, and the application of dance moves to your song.
Even if you are unsure of what your song will be the Introductory lesson can help you find the right song.
Afterwards, we'll look at schedules, budgets, and goals and pick the dance package that is right for you. Even if you choose to never take another lesson from me again or from any other studio, the Introductory lesson will teach you skills that can be used for your Wedding Dance, in addition to just dancing together socially at parties.
For Weddings less than 1 month away the Introductory lesson is $150. There is still time to try an Introductory lesson and choose one of our standard wedding packages. If you decide to proceed with booking a standard package of 3 lessons, then a $75 discount from your Introductory lesson will be applied towards your Introductory lesson. Short notice dances require more time on our part and there have been many cases where couples request to learn a dance in single lesson. We have had many successful couples (dancers and non dancers) try our system and it works. The best results come from taking more than 1 lesson.
The Introductory lesson is priced at $60 (but if booking for a Tuesday, Friday, or Saturday, $75 all other days). Yes, there are cheaper Introductory lessons out there, but most studios that offer a “$25 new student special” will then pressure you into signing a $1,000 contract or tell you need 3 months of lessons (trust me, you don’t need 3 months of lessons). For couples who are trying out multiple coaches, I know that can get expensive, so I'm always happy to work something out.
Your probably wonder why I don't have a "price list" on my website. A price list doesn't really tell couples the value of our lessons. Please read my reviews, look at my videos (happy to send you video links) and photos, and come try a lesson. Don't worry my prices aren't crazy. You can get a great dance, plus skills that last for a lifetime starting at $300, but I want couples that choose me based on the experience not the price tag.
It’s ideal to select your wedding dance coach at least 3 months before the wedding, but I’ve had couples come in 1 week before the wedding. It’s never too late. The sooner you select your wedding coach, then that's one less thing to worry about. Remember you will get busier with wedding details as your big day approaches.
“Rae was awesome! We learned so much in 6 lessons (1 intro + 5-lesson package) and had fun doing it. Our first dance was actually two dances: first a slow song and then a transition into a surprise upbeat song…” Read the Full Review on Facebook
